Job Description:

Magellan Advisory Partners is looking for a Graduate Research Associate to join an innovative team supporting Senior Consultants across their portfolio of Asset Management clients.

In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to learn about specific asset classes, such as Fixed Income, Equities, Private Markets and Multi-Asset, in addition to understanding the intricacies of the investment management industry.

You will help the team deliver high quality research and consultation for global client assignments, working directly with Senior Consultants, who will mentor you throughout your journey and invest in your career development.

Research Associates will be responsible for supporting executive search Consultants in their day-to-day functions, this includes research projects, asset-class mapping, and senior client hiring assignments.

As Research Associates learn the fundamentals of executive search, there will be opportunities to specialize in specific asset classes or segments which you find most interesting.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
• Grade 2:1 or above

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake in-depth industry research across multiple asset classes and investment firms.
• Interact with senior investment professionals.
• Help co-ordinate client assignments and prepare project updates.
• Assist in championing key industry initiatives, such as diversity & inclusion and ESG/Sustainability.
• Develop strong asset management industry knowledge and identify industry/sector trends.

We are looking for an Intern to work as an Associate. In this role, you will be supporting the Consultants and Researchers in their day-to-day roles.

This function offers both operational and research responsibility, giving you an insight into how a successful city firm operates; as well as an in-depth understanding both of top-level headhunting, and the City in general. Some of the responsibilities for the role might entail (not exhaustive):

• Being the first point of contact for telephone calls and conducting telephone-based research.
• Conducting desk research into Companies and People using a variety of web-based information sources.
• Organizing and producing think pieces on the market through qualitative and quantitative research.
• Producing Marketing material and Client Research Reports for Consultants/Researchers in preparation for
meetings.

If you are a successful intern there is the opportunity of being offered a permanent role.  All of our other Interns have been able to use the knowledge they gained to find successful jobs in the City or within Executive Search.
